Solutions

One possible solution to decreasing food allergies would be to decrease the amount of cleanliness, and to reduce the amount of anti bacterial soap and germ x in order to build up the immune system. The pros and cons of this would be that the immune system could potentially be strengthen. And the con would be that diseases could spread quicker. People might object to this, especially if the group of people are afraid of germs.
The second solution would be to create more awareness of the risk people could be put T if hey develop a severe food allergy. The pro of this is that less deaths would happen if people were more aware. Con some people wouldn't care if they were not he ones being effected. People might object if they are not involved in the seriousness of food allergies.
The last solution would be to treat food allergies a lot more by doctors. The pro of this could be that people get treated quickly and better. Con would be hat his could be really expensive. Some people without insurance would object to this idea.

Describe your approach to your argument of fact:

What new misconceptions are you clearing up?
I am clearing up the misconception of food allergies, and that they are found in a large part  of the population.
I am providing new information through the use of testimonials, and one more peer reviewed article.
An unknown issue that I am bringing to the audiences attention, that consuming too much of the same kind of food can make you allergic to that food

What is your hypothesis: what do you want us to understand?
I would like my audience to know that food allergies is a serious disease, and it is important to be considerate of people with allergies
Testimonial facts is what I am going to use to convince my audience of this, I just need the actual testimonial facts.

I have now read and summarized three scholarly sources on my food allergy topic. I have learned that food allergies can be caused by simply consuming too much of the same food regularly. I have also learned that doctors today are trying to learn more and better ways to reduce the chance of getting food allergies, and also how to better stop a reaction. Because I myself have had to deal with food allergies growing up, I was not surprised by anything that I learned. I feel that I still need to know how a person can better prevent an allergic reaction from occurring. I feel that the journal articles will not provide the "testimonial" feel that I am looking for in my research paper. I will look else where at this point, and hopefully find exactly what I need.

During my time researching my project, I have found several things:
first being that the key words that I found to be useful for my Allergy Reaction Research Paper were " allergy reaction, food allergies, and food reaction" The ones that were least useful were " Allergic reactions to garlic, and Reaction to food."
To answer the second point on my work sheet, there are a lot of sources on my topic. At first I was overwhelmed by how many sources were available, but once I took the advice of my librarian and narrowed down the sources, I found it to be quite helpful.
Some of the sources came up with the right approach, showing how people can be allergic to food, and why it happens in people.  The area of study in this particular subject is really broad, and so it was not all that hard to find information on it.
The way that I sorted through sources was by narrowing down my search first on countries with people who had severe food allergies, then by subject. The criteria I used to figure out if they were useful was first, I looked at the relevance of the articles, then to see if they looked like actual studies that were conducted, and I looked to see if the websites that they were from looked or seemed to be reliable.
The thing that I learned from my topic from simply sorting through some sources, was that my subject is really broad, and it is still very interesting to me, and interesting how severe food allergies can be.

I am currently working on a research project for my English class. The topic that I will be researching is a social problem, that in my opinion is not very much cared for by others. I will be researching about people with food allergies, and the severity of their allergic reaction due to the food that was consumed without the realization of it.
Some things that I wonder about is
1. Do the owners of restaurants/workers take food allergies as a serious matter?
2. How many precautions do people with food allergies have to take when going out to eat?
3. Are the labels accurate when it comes to consuming food with potential harm to the people eating it?
4.How severe are the allergic reactions of the people who consumed food they are allergic to?
5. What can restaurants and other dinning place do to reduce an incident of allergic reactions?
6. Why do people develop food allergies?
7. Are cooking utensils properly cleaned off? Ensuring that if there were to be food that someone was allergic to, is completely washed off.

Evaluating these questions for my research topic, I think that number 1,3,5,6, and 7 will be useful in my essay.

My topic is important because, there are many people in the world, (including myself )who have severe food allergies, and I think that it is very important to take precautions about what we put into our bodies. Any little bit of food that I am allergic to will cause a severe reaction. When I go out to eat, I have to be especially careful with what I order, and sometimes it's hard to know with what the cooks cooked with. One never knows if the skillet that was used still contains food that was previously cooked. Even the slightest bit of food could cause an awful allergic reaction, which is painful, and scary at the same time.
I am studying people's severe food allergies because I want to find out what restaurant owners and other people who do not struggle with food allergies in order to help the reader help the ones who suffer with food allergies to minimize incidents.

Let's start with an introduction

Hello, my name is Dulce. You might not know, but my name means candy and sweet in Spanish. I was born in a small town in NM, nothing incredibly interesting. I grew up in several places, my family moved around a lot, from NM, to Borger TX., then later to Canyon TX., then off to Amarillo TX. The constant moving around made me feel like I did not belong in any of the places that I moved to. Perhaps that is what has led me to believe that I am an expert in knowing how it feels to be the outsider. For many years, the constant moving around made me feel just like that, an outsider. All of the children from the schools saw me as the "new girl" no one was ever brave enough to actually approach me, and introduce themselves. Funny how we would rather shy away from the new things in our lives, than to approach them ready to see what change could bring to us.  Reading my blog, you will quickly come to realize that I am not your typical girl, I do not always see things the way the rest of the world sees things, blame it on my "outsider-ness" if you will, but I find life more interesting that way. I have not ever had a real hobby, I usually like spending my time alone, curled up reading a book, or at a gym running from my thoughts that seem trapped inside my head, or sometimes I manage to keep myself entertained with random activities, never a hobby really.  There are a couple of issues/problems that I feel passionate about. The first is the never really mentioned problem of food allergies. I myself struggle with food allergies, they are now no where near as bad as they used to be, but if people would of been just a slight bit more considerate of others, or just a bit more careful of what they were mixing food with, I would have saved myself a handful of trips to the hospital, and many many awful frights. I feel that food allergies is a serious problem, that most people (unless they have food allergies) never really think about how severe people's allergies can truly be.
